All signs it is rough play and I am annoying him and that he will start to get annoying with me if it progresses. If I stop playing with him after this display he just wants to cuddle and nibble fingertips.

I take Boo on exploratory walks around my neighborhood, work sites, town and beyond. She loves them. I point at things for her to sniff so she is up on the latest new in that area. This activity keeps her focused and exercised. It also allows me to be in the moment with my dog and onlookers are so tickled to see her investigate.

Strange Dogs

I saw a strange dog today. It followed me and Boo. I stood as a tree. Very still. Then I crossed my arms. The dog, sniffed, then walked away. If I ran. I wouldn't have made it. This was a big dog, and it was excitable. It even poked Boo. She stood still too. She's so good.

Respect the cats

Today I had 2 clients that had trouble with cats. Cats teasing the dog, dogs chasing the cats. Intense starting at cats and inability to relax when they are around. One dog was a boxer, the other was a Carolina mix.In both incidences it was obvious that the cats needed to be conditioned to the dogs just as much as the dogs need to be conditioned to them. I recommended desensitization, new house rules, games to take the extra spring out of the dog, bite control games as well as a few other situational helpers.
I love how quickly the dogs cling to a new routine, order and rules. It really makes them feel safe and secure. They know now that all they need to do is listen learn and repeat that behavior for constant positive attention. They get calmer, tired quicker and learn to self soothe. These dogs are smarter than we think people.
